ABOUT
Kamilah Thurmon is an Emmy-nominated Producer and storyteller with nearly two decades experience producing unscripted television shows. She has worked in various producer capacities for NBC, HGTV, BET, MTV, VH-1, Bravo, Lifetime, and Oxygen.
Kamilah is dedicated to developing and producing stories that are often untold—stories about people and communities who are underrepresented. As a HumanitiesDC and Library of Congress grant recipient and DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities fellow, Kamilah has developed and produced films to document and preserve the stories and memories of DC Communities. While deeply rooted in telling the stories of Washington, D.C., her work also extends to capturing powerful narratives from individuals, families, and communities across the country. In September 2020, Kamilah was recognized by the District of Columbia Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment (OCTFME) as the Filmmaker of the Month.

Kamilah seeks to highlight and preserve the voices and experiences that are typically overlooked, ensuring their legacies are shared and celebrated.
